So you did a review of Watch_Dogs and didn't say anything about the hacking...

Hey. Here's what I've been working on in the last couple of days.

It's that time again, eh? But this time... we're going to Lond'n.

...This may be the last text-based review you will see from me. But who bloody cares? Let's just get to it. Today, I'm reviewing Assassin's Creed Syndicate.

Story:

To avoid spoilers, you'll get the bit you'd have seen if you watch the trailers.

The game is set in Victorian ondong, and you play as twins Jacob and Evie Frye, born assassins looking to free London from the claws of the Templars. At the start, they meet the assassin stationed in London, Henry Green: second generation Yusuf Tazim. Green will help them where he can, until they tell them to bugger off. They will meet historical people such as: Charles Dickens, Charles Darwin, 'Aleck' (Alexander Graham Bell), and Queen Victoria herself.

Gameplay:

Have you played Assassin's Creed? Have you played Sleeping Dogs? If you answered yes to both of those, mix the two, and you get Assassin's Creed Syndicate, +/- the Rope Launcher you can just steal out of Batman Arkham. What I'm trying to say is, that this game was made for me.

The fighting mechanics were overhauled to be more close-combat friendly, focusing on the Kukiri Sword (A piece of shit you don't want to use), Cane-Sword (which is a notch better), and the Brass Knuckles (my weapon of choice). The combat, while fast and hard at the start, once you get used to it, it becomes slower and easy. I made the connection to Sleeping Dogs, because it IS pretty much like Sleeping Dogs' fighting mechanic. So if you liked that, or you think you'd like it with slight modifications (multiple man assassinations), you'll like this.

They added horse carriages. I won't beat around the bush, they're just cars. Though, optimized so you truly feel why we scrapped carriages and use cars instead. I use this form of transportation the most, because it's faster than the others as I experienced.

Then we have the rope-launcher. At first, I was worried it would kill parkour, and, while I didn't use normal parkour as much, I did parkour. Using it - once you get used to it - is so seamless, and natural, that you don't notice it. And in a time of need (like this) where they needed to make the parkour smooth and seamless, I welcome it.

To take over London, the player must siege boroughs, and to do that, they have to lure out the Templars who rule the borough. If they are lured out, they will try to ambush the player, and if that fails, they will have to fight in a gang war. (Unless the player is like me, and assassinates the leaders a few seconds before their cutscene ends.)

To move on to the difficulty, it varies, really. True to Assassin's Creed, you can't change the difficulty, but you wouldn't really need to. The game can be frustratingly hard, but only when you're a dumbass like me and try to win a level 8 fight club (where in the later rounds level 9 and 10 opponents come too) as a level 7 character.

The Train:

You see, in this game, the assassins' hideout is a steam-engine. It's pretty realistic, and gets upgraded as you progress in the story.

Sounds:

The music is good for the most part, and the sound effects are good.Don't know what else to say.

Graphics:

The graphics stayed. Some people say that it has decreased, but honestly, I don't see it. It's still just as, if not better looking than Unity. The children have been fixed so i won't get nightmares, and everything just looks fine.

Conclusion:

If you couldn't tell already, I love the game. It's what I expected. The protagonists are Ezio split into two (Jacob is AC2 Ezio, Evie is ACRev Ezio, and both sare a bit of ACB Ezio), but still have their own personalities, the fighting mechanic rivals, if not beats that of Sleeping Dogs, and the game as a whole is just what I was hoping it would be. The only true negative I can say is that I didn't get to fight Brock Lesnar while beating fight clubs. I can honestly say, that I'm feeling what I felt while playing Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. And that I may put this game as my #2 in my top 10 AC games instead of AC2. And because of this, my rating of the game is...

I decided to take a month off to work on my editing skills. (Sorry but this vid's in Hungarian right now. English dub should be available a week or two from now, depending on Xman.)
