Hey everyone. Surprise review out of the blue, I just finished Watch_Dogs.
Before I even start this review, let me tell you, that I DON'T BLOODY CARE THAT THE GAME WAS OVERHYPED! Sure, it lowered it's value because it couldn't live up to the hype, but if we'll hate every game because of things like being broken at the start but then getting repaired and even giving you free stuff (AC: Unity) then the gaming industry will be dead in 10 bloody years. Sure, we need to tell the developer that we don't like getting half-assed and overhyped product, but people need to remember that developers are not retarded. They understood it the first 1500 times you told them.
So with that out of the way, let's start, I guess.
(I should also note that this was made by pretty much the same people as Assassin's Creed is, Ubisoft Montréal, so I'll treat this game as another AC game.)
Story:
You are Aiden Pearce, master assassin master hacker, whose niece died in a car "accident" set up because of a half-assed job. Now Aiden's patrolling the streets of Chicago, as the Vigilante named Fox by the people of Chicago.
+Didn't see 2/3 plot twists coming
+Pretty good story overall
-The one plot twist I did see was a cliché...
7/10
Gameplay:
If you have played Assassin's Creed, you'll know most of it the controls. The game is fairly responisve, and the difficulty can be set. The driving isn't the bane of your existence in the game, unlike how people say. It isn't good, don't get me wrong, but if you get used to it, it's okay. (Getting used to it takes like, 2 day, which isn't much.)
8/10
Graphics:
The game looks good. It's not Unity level of graphics, but it's pretty close. Haven't seen any textures that looked like a PS2 game's, so, yeah.
8/10
Sounds:
I found the sound effects to be good. the music in the game (the riginal music) is good, and well... there's also the radio...
Let me just say that the only songs I did listen to, from the radio, are Punk Rock songs because the presence of 2 Chainz tainted pretty much every other genre. (This doesn't mean that he has a song in every genre. Just that I couldn't stop thinking that he's on the list of artists they included when listening to other stuff.)
7.5/10
Conclusion:
This game, of course, doesn't live up to the hype. But, it is good. It's not the best, but I found it to be quite enjoyable. If you're a fan of 3D open world sandbox games, then I say give it a try.
My final rating for this game is... 7.5/10
